Fortunes Fine Jewellers is built on a commitment to excellence; in design, craftsmanship and service. Michael daCosta, a jewellery designer and certified gemologist, opened Fortunes in 1986.
Michael started in the industry with entrepreneurial aspirations and has been refining his skills as an artist long before looking upon gems. He first opened the doors to Fortunes to display creative and innovative jewellery that pushed the boundaries of conventional design. Since then he has received numerous awards for jewellery design and innovation. His training as a gemologist is reflected in the variety and quality of gemstones in the jewellery in Fortunes’s ever-changing collection of one-of-a-kind pieces.
Michael is supported by an experienced and talented group, including goldsmiths, setters and gemologists- all contributing to bring his designs from paper to our show room. Our expert craftsmen specialize in making truly one-of-a-kind jewellery and creating pieces of art to pass on for generations.
Fortunes is family owned and operated by Michael and his son Zac, and has been servicing the Toronto area and beyond for 30 years. We are committed to bringing our customers excellent service. Although it’s not always necessary, we recommend that you call or email us to request a time most convenient to you; usually between a half hour and an hour is enough time. During our initial consultation we will focus on putting your ideas to paper in an iterative process, done while the design is discussed. Once we understand your inspiration, and an agreement is reached, the design will be formalized in detail in preparation to be made. Upon completion we can provide you with a price quote and time frame for completion.
